To celebrate the anniversary of the ‘The Goddess Principle’ album that came out in 1995, Pure Steel Records will do a rerelease of the album.

Steel Prophet is an American power metal band that started in 1983 and still goes strong. A few months ago the band released a statement the they’re very busy on writing new songs but in the meantime their recordlabel comes with this release.

Seeker

The Victory Records diversity showcase: following reviews of the bands Close Your eyes and Neurotic November (who deal in Progressive Melodic Hardcore/ Pop Punk and MetalCore/ DeathCore respectively) we now come to part 3 of the showcase with a band best categorized (in a general way) under the Death Metal label [this Dallas, Texas based band is not to be confused with the (again active since 2011) American Heavy Metal act from Pennsylvania].

Rustfield

Kingdomes of Rust is a fairly good debut album where prog, symphonic, power and heavy metal and electronic ambient passages flow into each other, effortlessly it seems. The vocals could have been much better, especially the Italian accent is scary, Of the more prog metal tunes “Waxhopes” definitely sticks out, with some blowing guitarsolos and some great harmonic bass tapping. But in the end the 12 tracks stretch unimpressive musical ideas far too thin, and the instrumental sections never build into anything really exciting building a real kingdom of rust.

Masters of Disguise

Masters of Disguise is named after the album SAVAGE GRACE (1985). Same cover concept a patrol cop, the infamous officer Knutson. Mabe a return… The band is formed in 2013 with members: Kalli Coldsmith (Guitar), Mario Lang (Bass), Neudi (Drums), Roger Dequis (Guitar) and Alexx Stahl (Vocals).

Falkenbach

Gosh...considering that Falkenbach have been around since 1989, released 5 full-length albums prior to this one since 1996, and are a known entity within the Viking/ Black/ Folk Metal scene, I am kind of surprised to find this album come my way for review. Perhaps our specialist already had enough on his plate (as per usual, by the way!)?

Duncan Evans

Following the release of his debut single “Bird Of Prey” b/w “She And I Must Part” (released in April; review by yours truly posted somewhere in July of last year), Duncan Evans finally found his debut solo album released in mid-November (and, yes, we know...we have quite some delay reviewing the thing, but you should see the backlog of releases we get to do each month, with a far to small staff...in fact, our editor-in-chief has trouble downloading all that promo material which in the past was sént to us by mail, you know, and I only got this album in my to-do box
