The Nordic-styled genre might be one of the most ‘popular’ subgenres within the Black Metal scene (with exception of some pathetic semi-commercial Pop-Black trends, which make me puke’n’vomit; but that’s another story). Nordic-oriented Black Metal has its origins within the Second Wave and somehow remained true to the roots of the ‘general’ Black Metal scene.

Belgium in general (and Flanders more specific) might not be that ‘huge’ as, let’s say, Norway, the U.S., Poland, Sweden or Botswana when it comes to ‘true’ or ‘orthodox’ Black Metal. However, this country houses so many excellent acts for sure. That’s the case right now, as it was in the past. It would be a stupid thing to sum up all bands and projects that deserve to be mentioned, but as part of that (unlimited) list, Thronum Vrondor must be added for sure.

I was quite a ‘fan’ of German Black Metal paganists Thyrgrim, but for some reason, after quite a fine curriculum vitae, they decided to put the band on hold. A pity for sure. But some of the members decided to continue, and this under the moniker of MNHG. It maintains comparisons to Thyrgrim, but the core is quite different, as I will explain immediately.
Statement (as mentioned in my review for this French project’s former album as well): “taking shape from personal neurosis, fears and anxiety, Blurr Thrower aims to exhume the secret ether from the meandering of the Human soul”. Don’t come telling me, afterwards, that I did not warn you…
The Finland based act Dispyt did not disappoint at all with their debut Den Ständigt Närvarande Ångesten, originally independently released in 2017 and re-released (+ re-mastered) in 2019 via Belgium’s Immortal Frost Productions. It is that very same label that now takes care of the releasing duties for the sophomore full-length album, Under Tiden Jag Sålde Min Själ Till Satan.

Sons Of A Wanted Man is an act from Beringen, which is a city in Limburg, Belgium, formerly known from its coalmine sites. The band started five years and something ago, when some experienced musicians from different anti-commercial acts joined forces to bring something that makes Belgium great again: Post / Sludge Heaviness with (hairy) balls! They recorded and released some demonstrational stuff throughout the years, and did gain an impressive (local) live status, but now things will truly start, caused by Kenoma.
I am often thrilled by split albums, especially when the bands or projects involved are much appreciated by my eardrums. Well, that is exactly the case with this (untitled) split in between two French acts, Paris-based Cepheide and Time Lurker from Strasbourg. I will give a brief description on both projects’ presence immediately, but I’d like to focus, in the first place, on this album itself.
Guillaume Taliercio is known from his activities in bands like Cowards, Colossus Of Destiny and Eibon especially. The guy wrote some material during the first half of this decade, which did not exactly fit to one of the combos he is involved with, so he composed it as a personal project, which eventually got baptized as Heaume Mortal. He did it, and this isn’t but informative, under the name Guillaume Morlat, by the way.
