Atomic Aggressor

When listening to this band’s debut album, one might think that they are heavily inspired by the Old School in all its glory. But actually, Atomic Aggressor are part of that legendary Old School, for this Chilean band was active as from the end of the eighties. They had two demos back then, Bloody Ceremonial in 1989 and Resurrection in 1991, but then they broke up.

The People’s Noise Project

First this: additional information about the label Vomit Bucket Productions can be found in one of the reviews we recently uploaded by material released by, evidently, this German label (Ataraxy, Nekro:Mancer, Vomitous Discharge – No One Gets Out Alive, or Catgirl; all of them were updated during late January). But let’s say that, if you like it bloody and skinless, then you will find what you are looking for on this DIY-label for sure.

Nekrofilth

Nekrofilth are a project by NunSlaughter / Crucified MortalsZack ‘Massacre’ Rose, which did surprise me a lot with their first demo in 2008, called Worship Destruction. That material was re-released on vinyl in spring 2011 via Hells Headbangers Records, by the way, and reviewed by undersigned – see upload, within the Archive-section, on May 8th 2011.

Lysergene

This is a rather strange thing. It is not impossible that you heard of Esoteric before, one of the most impressive Extreme Doom acts from the U.K., no, from Mater Terra. This is not a review about them, but they are top! They just are… I like about everything they did… Oops, once again, this review deals not with an Esoteric recording, I am sorry…

Desdemonia

Desdemonia are one of the (very) few bands from Luxembourg, formed two decades ago. Throughout the years, they played live on stage a lot with some ‘big’ names, such as Krisiun, Sacred Sin, Soilwork, Enthroned, Heaven Shall Burn and many more. They released a first album, called Same, in 1998 (independent), but my first acquaintance was in 2001, when this band released the second studio full length, called Paralyzed (September 25th 2001).

Battalion

Okay, this is an easy one to start: I like everything this Belgian band did in the past! So, here you have it. And I promise you: with Only The Dead… (Have Seen The End Of War), Pieter Van de Putte and his crew continue that path of victory!

Unsacred

Unsacred are a very young Virginia-based trio (drummer Scott Bartley, bassist / vocalist Hunter McCarty, and guitar player Miguel Falcon), but despite their young age (they were formed in 2012) they did record and release three well-received EP’s in mean time (at least within the American market). It made them be able to perform live on stage with notorious acts like Ash Borer, Kylesa, Obliteration, Toxic Holocaust etc.

Manes

I’ll keep this introduction very short. Manes hail from Norway and released quite differing / different stuff in the past. I was truly obsessed / possessed by the debut Under Ein Blodraud Maane (1998), but the other recordings showed another side of etc… You know, or you do not, but there’s the .net to help you out.

Hippie Nazi / Pagan Assault

There has always been a love-hate relationship in between Punk and Metal. About the ‘hate’-part I can be very short: f*ck it. Short enough? About the ‘love’-angle, well, just notice that there are, and always have been, hundreds of bands combining both styles, or members being involved in groups from both genres. And don’t forget to think about all those ‘fans’ that do appreciate at least a part of both styles.

Empire Auriga

FINALLY!!! This is one of my most-wanted releases to come. I just adore Empire Auriga’s debut album Auriga Dying, and when Moribund did re-release this material for a second time in 2011 (it was self-released in 2006 and re-released a first time in 2008), it was announced to be some teaser for the upcoming album that would see the unlight later that very same year. Well, f*ck it!
