Italy’s Profezia are a Black Misanthropic Elite (hehe, got it???) which I do like a lot. The band is now on the roster of Moribund, which isn’t that strange at all, for the ‘musical’ approach is very much moribundish in different aspects: song writing, lyrical approach and sound.
Monolith are a very young act from Germany that recorded a four-track demo in 2011/2012. The trio (Ralf Brummerloh-b, v; André Dittmann-d; Ron Osenbrück-g) started working on their debut full length in Summer 2013, and they joined Final Gate Records’ roster, which will release Monolith’s debut.
Kuolemanlaakso from the city of Kuopio, Finland were formed in 2010. And as from the very beginning of their existence, they did surprise me enormously. The band’s 2012-debut on Svart Records, Uljas Uusi Maailma, was a truly satisfying aural experience, and one of the best Death Metal albums that very same year (though, can one label this material just as ‘Death Metal’?).
Erebus Enthroned are a Black Metal act from Australia, formed in 2006 and creators of the Divine Legions Of Satan demo (self-released, 2007), Spiritual Deconstruction (as part of their 2009-split with Nekros Manteia), the well-appreciated full length Night’s Black Angel (the band’s 2011-debut album for Séance Records), and another split, the 10”LP Accession Of Fire, with Blaze Of Perdition (2013).
Edenkaiser are a pretty young band from Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, formed at the very end of last decade by guitarist Häwkmoon. I only knew the band from their collaboration of the Vomitory tribute-album Rebirth Of The Grotesque, on which they appeared with the cover track Inferno.
Decapitated Christ hail from Spain. They were formed as a trio (BlastHagel-d, Ghorth-g, and Lutt-b&v) in 2005 in order to pay tribute to the earliest nineties.
French act Aurvandil is a project that nowadays consists of forming member and vocalist / instrumentalist / lyricist / composer Aurvandil (the same guy who is active in one of France’s most impressive Death Metal projects Manipulator, acting under the hilarious name of Moil Of The Macabre Manipulation [I still need to laugh with this intelligently chosen nickname]; for the review about this project’s sole release, the MCD Voidbound, please check out the update on September 16th 2012; see ‘Archive’), and,
Somewhere in the midst of the nineties, Ron Vento left Death / Black act Lestregus Nosferatus in order to form a new band. It meant the end for that band, but FYI, they reformed (without Ron) a couple of years ago with an adapted moniker, Le Streghe Nosferatus. But that’s another story…
