Suicidal Angels

Suicidal Angels is a Greek trash metal band that was created in 2001 by guitarist and singer Nick Melissourgos as a school project. but it wasn't until somewhere in January 2007 that the band started recording their first full length album entitled "Eternal Domination" which was released in July later that year. During that same period, the band did several tours with bands like Rotting Christ, Kreator, Massacre and many more.

Majesty

Coming forth from Germany, is Majesty. A band formed by vocalist Tarek “MS” Maghary. Quickly after the release of their debut album, ‘Keep It True’ (2000), the band started to build up a its reputation and soon after became more and more popular (but mostly underground). Their popularity kept growing and they toured with bands like U.D.O. and Mystic Prophecy.

Think Of A New Kind

The first thing I read when unpacking this cd was TANK. Alright a new record of the beloved British band is nice present. When taking a closer look to the artwork it appealed to be a bit strange for a band like them, so maybe a band with the same name?  Nope, when taking a look to the side of the cd, there it stood: Think of A New Kind… ToANK… ok, mystery solved then, let’s hear what ToANK has to offer!

Antidote

The first new Antidote album in 21 years, “No Peace In Our Time”, is a way back to the Old School produced by the band and mastered by Howie Weinberg. Just in time to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of NY hardcore, this album they themselves describe as hard as fuck old school. It also has Agnostic Front Roger Miret on it on the track Rise Above.

Re-Machined

I don’t think Deep Purple realized what influence they would have on the music business, nor did they have any clue that the band would still exist some 40 years later.  In order to celebrate the anniversary of the release of the ‘Machine Head’ album, Eagle Record sort of re-releases the album, but the songs were covered by various famous and – in our countries that is – less famous artists.

Vicious Rumors

Having reviewed their latest studio album ‘Razorback Killers’, and rewarding that album with a good score,  I was curious how this live album would sound like.

My first remark is that new singer Brian Allen acquits himself very well of the job but is sometimes struggling with the really high notes in the older songs from the Carl Albert era.  I have no comments to make about the other musicians, it sounds very good.

The Sword

The Sword is an American heavy metal band from Austin, Texs. Formed in 2003, the band is composed of vocalist and guitarist John D. Cronise, guitarist Kyle Shutt, bassist Bryan Richie, and drummer Santiago "Jimmy" Vela III. Originally signed to New York-based independent label Kernado Records, the group released its debut album Ages Of Winters, which was largely written by Cronise before the band's formation, in 2006.

The (Original) Iron Maiden

Almost a decade before one Steve Harris would start up what was to become one of the more successful Heavy Metal bands still around (somewhere in 1966 to be more precise, bassist Barry Skeels, singer Steve Drewett and guitarist Chris Rose (whom had that far been active in an acoustic band) witnessed a performance of Cream at their school hall in Basildon (Southern border of Sussex, some 50 km East from the center of London)!
