Birth of Joy

I remember when I received the first album from this Dutch band a few years ago, their bluesy organ rock was a bit too average for my taste, although it was obvious that they had the technical skills to reach a better level. Prisoner is Birth of Joy’s  second for Suburban and this threesome makes a good figure between other Dutch bands such as De Wolff and Gingerpig. Not every of the eleven tracks is a burner, but due to the varied material here it's an album you can listen to without skipping from one track to the next. Prisoner changed my opinion about Birth of Joy and I can honestly say that they have done a big step forward.
