Voice Of Revenge are a band from Würzburg, Germany, that were formed in 2005 by guitarist Peter Kretschmer and vocalist / guitar player Thomas Döll. In 2007, they self-released an impressing EP, called Mutilated Corpse, which led them to great festivals, such as Bringer Of Death or Riders Of The Storm. It also brought them in contact with MDD Records from Nordheim-Nordhausen (Germany), and in 2010 the band debuted with Chronicles Of Betrayal, followed by more live performances on huge festivals (Eisenwahn, Ill-Fest etc.).

Recently, Voice Of Revenge (besides Thomas and Peter, the band consists of drummer Tilman Witschel and bass player Peter Müller) entered the SG Studio with producer Stefan Gösswein, and the result was mixed and mastered at the famous Stage One Studio with nobody else by Andy Classen (think: Belphegor, Legion Of The Damned, Sinister, Disbelief, Varg a.m.m.). The result is, besides a marvellous sound (Mr Classen, as mentioned before), a mostly obscure, ominous and malignant form of slightly Black-influenced Death Supremacy Metal, coming in a high speed-tempo (at least the heaviness comes close to high-speed aggression), but with much, much more of additional grotesquery. What about the spherical occlusion of the opener, for example, with those marvellous atmospheric key-lines…

It’s the pride once done in Sweden, Germany, the U.S.aha, Holland and so on, translated into an own interpretation of a rhythmic drive courtesy of Voice Of Revenge.

In general, this isn’t a renewing effort at all, but MDD proved to have a fine nose to smell the sweetest kind of sulphurous stench, in order to sign those bands that are not a waste of anyone’s time (at least not mine)). In this case there’s no difference. Voice Of Revenge are such a band that continues a certain path of ‘just-a-little-more’- Death Power with a subtle amount of sublime additions, a grotesque performance and a fabulous spirit / attitude, and together with the wonderful production, Disintegration in its completion might be one of the Death Metal highlights from 2013!
