Scolopendra Cingulata

How many bands do you know from Kazakhstan? Personally, I know about a handful of names - just by name (and maybe I’ve heard something of them on the net or on a sampler, but nothing more than that). And to be honest, in my (limited, haha) physical collection, there’s only one name that appears: Scolopendra Cingulata. And I have to say that I do truly adore their demo Paccbet (from 2014; you can find the short review on the update of December 2nd 2014).

Styxian Industries

At the end of last decade, a new entity was born in the Netherlands: Styxian Industries. The aim was to destroy the last beliefs in mankind, and to brutally penetrate all organic structures by the post-apocalyptic industrial hammer (damn, I’m in a poetic mood tonight…). But seriously, this act created some stuff in between 2009 and 2010, with a highlight in 2012 by means of a split with Redreom, released via Total Death Records.

Ancient sphereS

The connection in between Costa Rica and the Russian label Satanath Records is quite important; cf. releases by bands like Alastor Sanguinary Embryo, Corpse Garden or Inhuman (all of them have been, or soon will be reviewed for one or another release, so keep attentive!).

Bestial Deform

One of the oldest yet still active (?) Death Metal entities from Russia is the horde called Bestial Deform, formed twenty five years ago. I do not know if it is because of that anniversary, but they re-release some of their oldest material, with professional assistance and support by two great Russian labels, More Hate Productions and Symbol Of Domination Productions.

Educated Scum

Russia’s Educated Scum are known for one album, 2011’s React, but before that release they did record some other material that now gets compiled on one CD, appropriately entitled The Chaos Complete: From Chaos To Disorder Re-Visited. Chaos, holy Chaos, now completed…

Montes Insania

I was limitedly pleased with Montes Insania’s debut album Song From Beyond A Gray Veil, this duo’s debut for Satanath Records (Russia’s Andrey ‘Andrew T.’ Tvorogov and Ukrainian Yevgeniy ‘Zhenya Marduk’; both of them have several other projects, and work together under the name Poezd Rodina aka Поезд Родина too; check out April 29th’s update for the review on their album Белая даль aka Belaya Dal’, or prepare for the upcoming review on this ban

Abysmal Growls Of Despair

The Funeral Doom scene in France is pretty interesting, at least that’s what undersigned is thinking about it. One of the (many) projects that I can truly appreciate is a quite productive one, being Abysmal Growls Of Despair, one of the many (digital) projects by Hangsvart. Despite the very young age of this project (and this guy), there are quite some recordings in mean time.

Exegutor

My first acquaintance with Belarussian act Exegutor was when I heard the Dive Sessions EP, the band’s first release via Satanath Records (review updated on September 21st 2014, by the way, so check it out). Apparently they did release an album before, Cure For Dull, but I still haven’t had the opportunity to check that one out.

Abysmal Growls Of Despair

Abysmal Growls Of Despair are a French outfit by a guy called Hangsvart, who formed this project in 2013. Hangsvart is a rather active musician / composer, for Abysmal Growls Of Despair have recorded several pieces in mean time, despite the young age of existence. But who am I to criticise this… I will not!
