The Moon And The Nightspirit

When the Hungarian Doom-band EvenSong was put to hold, the couple (?) Ágnes Tóth (vocals, violin, percussions, keyboards, flute, dulcimer etc.; she also takes care of the cover and lay-out) and Miháli Szabó (vocals, strings; also zither and kalimba, for example) formed the Neo-Classical act The Moon And The Nightspirit (in 2003).

Space Vacation

This band was a surprise to me.  I’d never heard of these Californians before, yet this is already their third album.  Of the band members the only name that rings a bell is that of Kiyoshi Morgan, who used to be the guitarist in Vicious Rumors.

Sivyj Yar

With From The Dead Villages’ Darkness, Sivyj Yar bring ‘songs about those who have gone into oblivion, the memories of whom has been lost’.

No Hand Path

In a couple of days I will write a review for a new Varathron-album, Untrodden Corridors Of Hades, but this review deals with five-piece No Hand Path, which consists of two Varathron-members, i.e. the brothers Haris and Sotiris Kokkinos, performing drums and bass respectively.

Nasheim

Nasheim were formed at the very beginning of this century by Erik Grahn (think: Lethal, Envenomed etc.) and a couple of colleagues. During the first half of the former decade, Nasheim recorded two great demos, which were compiled afterwards, and in 2007 there was the superb split with Angantyr. All this came to realisation thanks to the professional assistance of Northern Silence Productions.

Nachtmystium

I’ve got bad and good news. The good news: here is a new Nachtmystium-album! The bad news: it will be Nachtmystium’s final release. Apparently Blake ‘Azentrius’ Judd has some problems with law (theft, rip-off stuff, and contract issues with Century Media), forcing him to bury this band. This swansong sort of is the ideal, ultimate closure for a great era. Thanks anyway, Blake, for having mankind suffered by your aural bleakness, and f*ck you for ripping off people!

Lazer/Wulf

Based in Athens near Atlanta, Georgia, this band was formed in 2006 as a quintet including vocalist Jimmy Baldwin, guitarists Robert Sullivan and Bryan Aiken, bassist Sean Pfeiffer and then-drummer Mathius. They soon recorded and released their demo Demo-Lition, and enjoyed local success as a gleefully violent Metal act within the skeptical microcosm of the then-reigning Indie Rock scene.

Gang

This album probably kept lingering in the vaults of Conrete WeB, since I’ve just received it to review.

Gang is a French band that released 4 albums and demos in the 90ies.  As a matter of fact this band arose from the ashes of Gush X, and who finally released their fifth album ‘V’ in 2010, after which it did not become silent around this band, since they continued playing, but did not release any new albums up to now.

Everto Signum

Everto Signum are a very young Portuguese three-piece; young because they were formed in 2012, and young, because the members are in between 22 and 25 years of age. In 2012, they independently released a first album (back then Everto Signum were a quartet, with another line-up), which was called Enneachotomy, and now the band returns with a four-track EP, which includes a Lux Ferre-cover.

Downfall Of Gaia

Germany’s Downfall Of Gaia were originally formed as D-Beat / Crust / Grind / Punk act, but throughout the years, they evolved into a much more oppressive and obscure Metal-focused entity. I was enormously pleased with their 2012-album Suffocating In The Swarm Of Cranes (also via Metal Blade Records); the review for that record was updated on December 23rd 2012, by the way.
