Edenkaiser

Edenkaiser are a pretty young band from Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, formed at the very end of last decade by guitarist Häwkmoon. I only knew the band from their collaboration of the Vomitory tribute-album Rebirth Of The Grotesque, on which they appeared with the cover track Inferno.

Blackwater

The most frequent and relevant reference points I can find for the music on this self titled CD is Black Sabbath, Trouble, Alabama Thunderpussy, Dixie Witch,…. Although this 9-track is not in the same league in terms of quality, their mixing of rich power chords, steady drumming and okay, but not great vocals is coming along real well. An appealing cd , sure, but nothing groundbreaking. The song writing is played on the safe side and every song is much like many others you have heard before. Daring, Blackwater is not.

Aurvandil

French act Aurvandil is a project that nowadays consists of forming member and vocalist / instrumentalist / lyricist / composer Aurvandil (the same guy who is active in one of France’s most impressive Death Metal projects Manipulator, acting under the hilarious name of Moil Of The Macabre Manipulation [I still need to laugh with this intelligently chosen nickname]; for the review about this project’s sole release, the MCD Voidbound, please check out the update on September 16th 2012; see ‘Archive’), and,

Aurora Borealis

Somewhere in the midst of the nineties, Ron Vento left Death / Black act Lestregus Nosferatus in order to form a new band. It meant the end for that band, but FYI, they reformed (without Ron) a couple of years ago with an adapted moniker, Le Streghe Nosferatus. But that’s another story…

Ageless Oblivion

Hampshire, UK-based act Ageless Oblivion have never been my favourite Death formation, despite the enormous appreciation / influence / inspiration by so-called USDM-bands like Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Immolation, Nile, Hate Eternal or Dying Fetus. But with this album things do change.

First a short introduction, however, if you want it or not; I will just do so...

Veraeuredice

At the basis of this musical Symphonic Power Metal project, is one Fabrizio Sassi, previously known from the local (Ticino province, Switzerland) band Fragmenta (2005-2009), which was rather classically oriented. He is also the owner of his own Studio Oreadi, and releases his work under his own Se Pareba Boves Productions.

Stealth

According to their info sheet, North-Italy's Heavy Rock act Stealth was founded in 2007 by guitarist/ backing singer Luca Occhi and drummer Marcello Danieli, who immediately set forth writing music and lyrics, and recruiting current lead singer Enrico Ghirelli (ex-Cattivi Pensieri, ex-Catarsi, ex-Mantra)...whom originally only stayed with the and for a couple of months, but then returned to the fold in 2011 (when his Mantra project was fading out).
