German power metal… even after 35 year or so it stays a story of some hits but mainly loads of misses.  So is FORENSICK a hit or a miss…?  Well let’s call it a bit of both..   On a positive note the band is not overdoing it with choirs, happy singalong choruses and pompous sounding  keyboards.. No  the bands sticks to the old recipe  of  twin leads, solid riffs ( there is a lot of  Iron MAIDEN esque  “galloping”  going on  there) one could  say that “ Doomsday machine” ‘s main riffs is more than loosely based on “ the trooper”.  But then again there is worse out there which could serve as an influence..  Also production wise one can say that FORENSICK have done their best to put the bass a bit more in the front so that also here the MAIDEN vibe has  unmistakably been  aimed for.  All in all  “The Prophecy”   is   a positive  experience which however unfortunately right now  does not has the  actual song writing of the earlier mentioned  metal icons an vocalist Tobias Hubner is alas not the new Bruce ‘the siren “ Dickinson…  Final verdict?   “The Prophecy” is  better than most German and for  that matter EU- so called- power metal bands,  but it will take a better vocalist and more of an own  face  to really  stand out from the crowd.
