Cryostasium

Cryostasium

One of the most, eh, how will I put it, eh, let’s call it a ‘weird’ label… So, here it comes: Fish Prints is a weird label (haha, I did it, safely), dedicated to ‘curious sounds, past and present’, with releases by some truly unusual artists. No, seriously, when talking about an open-minded approach, this label by Thor Maillet houses Music(k) from so many angles, yet with one thing in common: not for the grey masses!

Cryostasium

I am not going to write a full introduction on Cryostasium this time, for you can find all info you want in one of the reviews I did for this American project in the past. Just enter the band-name in the tab ‘Search’ to find out more about this frenzy solo-outfit of one Cody Maillet

And hey, I will not digress too intensively about this new recording either. The reason: same fabulous shit! Ha!

Cryostasium

Very recently I came in touch with a new label, based in Boston, MA, US of A. Main reason was the cassette release of a new EP by Cryostasium, a unique love-it-or-hate-it one-man orchestra by Cody Maillet. I will come back to this immediately. Yet first I want to express my astonishment yet huge respect for the label, and this because of its raison d’être. Fish Prints was started just a couple of months ago by Cody’s twin brother Thor, releasing ‘curious sounds, past and present’.

My wife sometimes pretends that there’s something wrong with me, mentally, because of my muSICKal choices. Then I beat her up when playing Abruptum out loud, but actually she might be right. You know, I have never hidden my appreciation for Cody Maillet and his Cryostasium outfit, so that might be a proof of my dear wife’s statement, I guess.

Cryostasium

Hehe, I’m feeling quite lucky, for Cryostasium’s frontman Cody Maillet gave me the opportunity to listen to Projections Of Past, Present, And Future. It will be released in the future (a near future…), and this by -I’m sure- a smart label (nothing official yet, so let’s wait patiently), but I just felt like mentioning at least a couple of words on this newest Cryostasium recording – I guess it’s the 666th in mean time…

Cryostasium

Hail and honour! Album #100 for the superb / superior label Satanath Records! There are several new ones in mean time, but unfortunately Concreteweb has been silent for quite a while. But since I have an enormous respect for the label, the bands / projects on it, and, especially, the label owner (one of the greatest guys I met lately), I will make sure an overload on new reviews will be taken care of by undersigned in the next couple of weeks.
