Pact

With the 2012’s debut The Dragon Lineage Of Satan, this band’s first official studio recording on Moribund (KULT!), this American trio did surprise me enormously, if only because of the richness of their inherent poverty (richness and poverty in one shell…). Check out the review on this album, still available on the Archive-section, update July 6th 2012, sardonically done by undersigned.

Avatar

The Swedish band ‘Avatar’ debuted eight years ago with ‘Thoughts Of No Tomorrow’. They had influences by bands such as: ‘At The Gates’, ‘In Flames’, ‘Rammstein’,… they were a great inspiration for the band but with their previous release ‘Black Waltz’ they had found their own way.

Autopsy

[because the net simply exists, and for I have too much stuff still to review, I had to keep it short, but you will get the essence right here]

History: formed in 1987 in San Francisco, California. Majestic ‘early years’, and therefore one of the most influential Death Metal acts ever. Break from 1995 till 2010, then glorious comeback; old guys (just like me) that still beat the youngsters mercilessly!

Triumphant

Less than a year ago, Triumphant from Austria were formed out of the ashes of Manic Disease. With exception of the drummer and the recruitment of a second guitar player, the whole Manic Disease line-up is part of this new formation. The guys started writing new material that is comparable to the former stuff (recorded under their former moniker), and recently they were able to sign a two-album deal with Germany’s Cyclone Empire.

Great White

Great White has pleasantly surprised me with this album.  Not only does it contain 3 songs of their own, among them ‘Once Bitten, Twice Shy’ and ‘Rock Me’, but it also gives us 12 covers of other bands, the one even more famous than the other.  To my opinion, but who am I, there is ons song too many though, and that’s the last one ‘Blue Christmas’ a song originally sung by Elvis Presley.

Blaze

Blaze, not be confused with  the once  Wolfsbane, Iron Maiden,  and  Blaze  main man Blaze Bayley, no sir  no,  these 4 youngsters hail from Japan, and  with the EP  the rock dinosaur  they provide us a really good slab of very old school hard rock/ Metal,  in  this case not so much  influenced by  the known  NWOBHM stars of the early 80 ear like  Maiden,  Saxon or Priest,  but rather   influenced by UFO, old scorpions and MSG.

We Are The In Crowd

We Are The In Crowd is an American pop/rock (punk) band from Poughkeepsie, NY formed in 2009. The current members are Taylor "Tay" Jardine (vocals, keyboards), Jordan Eckes (rhythm guitar, vocals), Cameron Hurley (lead guitar, backing vocals), Mike Ferri (bass) and Robert "Rob" Chianelli (drums).

The Gaslight Anthem

Well well..my last acquaintance with this band was for the review (posted 11/02/2012) of their iTunes Session EP, and as that was also the band's introduction to Concrete Web, I gave you a complete history of the band up to that point.

Silent Opera

French act Silent Opera was formed in 2007 by Olivier Sentenac (b), Romain Larregain (g) and Laure Laborde (v). They (and ‘they’ includes some new members) recorded a first album at the Laguna Records Studio, which got released as Act One in 2010.
