Mudbath

French outfit Mudbath debuted in 2012 with the EP Red Desert Orgy, but the ‘popularity’ of their existence stayed somewhat local. All right, they did perform outside France too, yet they didn’t reach the status they should deserve, not yet. With Corrado Zeller, things will change. I will make sure that at least this review will help to open gates for this quartet.

Epitaph

Outside Italy, Epitaph, originating from the beautiful city of Verona, aren’t that known at all. They were actually formed in the Eighties, and did release three demos, but that’s about it. And now, finally, almost three decades after their birth, Epitaph come up with their debut studio full length album, called Crawling Out Of The Crypt. It seems to be a mostly fitting title, isn’t it…

Emblazoned

Emblazoned are an ‘old’ American act, finally coming up with their debut full length. You’re welcome…

Eucharistiae Sacramentum stands for half an hour of fast, energetic, rhythmic, tight and solid War / Death Metal of the ‘timeless’ kind (i.e. based on tradition without being retro, and modern without being progressive), including some hints of Black Metal (especially when it comes to the sphere) and Old School Morbid Doom-Death Metal.

Der Blaue Reiter

There was an artistic collaboration of German and Russian painters, shortly before the First World War, who were active as ‘Der Blaue Reiter’. Amongst them, by the way, Wassily Kandinsky (if I am not mistaken, this partnership was named after a painting by this expressionist artist) and Paul Klee, both of them pretty well-known names, I think. But this isn’t an exposé about the history of pictorial art; this chronicle deals with a 21st-century musical group, of course.

Deep Desolation

I was quite charmed by 2011’s Subliminal Visions, my first acquaintance with Polish band Deep Desolation, released via The End Of Time Records. So I was quite happy when the very same label, which has a very interesting roster lately, did send us the successor of Subliminal Visions, Rites Of Blasphemy.

Zero Gravity

Once again Transcending Obscurity will introduce an Indian Extreme Metal band to the worldwide scene, after, for example, Toxoid, Chaos, Gypsy, Orion or Halahkuh (distributed via Transcending Obscurity or released via Transcending Obscurity India). Also neighbor countries such as Bangladesh (Morbidity) and Nepal (Dying Out Flame) have been promoted in mean time.

The Lurking Corpses

It took quite a while, for The Lurking Corpses’ last album was released in 2008 (Smells Like The Dead). Okay, there was the re-issue of their 2003-debut 23 Tales Of Terror in September 2013 (update of the review undersigned did: see October 19th 2013), which was re-released to celebrate this band’s tenth anniversary, but new stuff, no, that has been too long, way too long. Until now… This band from Indiana, U SS A, have always amused me with their Horror Metal, though not one effort I know from them was really mind-blowing, I think.

Spina Bifida

Before I joined Concreteweb’s crew, I wrote reviews for my own sake. I made one for each single recording I bought (tapes, vinyl, and as from the Nineties also CD’s) for my own pleasure. Then, almost fifteen years ago, I joined Concreteweb (it’s a dirty job but someone has to do it; and how else would this label gain such a superior status if I wasn’t involved? …indeed, I thought so…).

Remete

Remete is a new project by Hungarian artist János Madura, currently active in Slumbersun and formerly known from Zebaoth or Our God Weeps as well. And if I am not mistaken, it’s the same guy involved with e.g. Kriegsfall-U and Mortem too.
