Serpentine Creation

On this album, Bulgarian act Serpentine Creation are a quartet, consisting of Vlad (guitars + vocals), Gormoth (guitars), Mephistophel (drums; he took care of the artwork too), and Jafar (bass). They self-produced The Fiery Winds Of Armageddon with mix and recording at the Sub Zero Studio, with Bebo taking care of engineering and mastering. Result: forty one minutes of modern Death / Black Metal.

Paganus Doctrina

I have to admit that I do not know that many interesting acts from Costa Rica, but despite the relative modesty of the scene, there are more than a couple of great acts out there: Alastor Sanguinary Embryo, Insepulto, Mortigor, Corpse Garden, From Oblivion or Morbid Funeral – and Deiphago, if you want to… And within that not-to-underestimate list of impressive acts, one needs to add Paganus Doctrina, a band that actually started half of the nineties.

Khost

I was totally blown away when I listened to the Khost debut album last year. Copper Lock Hell must have been one of the most impressive Industrial (and I know that’s quite a ‘large’ approach) releases in many years. Check out the review undersigned did for this high-quality recording, posted on November 17th 2014.

Human Serpent

I was truly surprised by last year’s The Gradual Immersion In Nihilism, this Greek band’s debut on Nebular Winter Productions (see update September 22nd 2014), and now, one year later, this band returns with the sophomore full album, Inhumane Minimalism, once again via the very same (top) label. Nine tracks this time, having a total running time of thirty two minutes. Once again the whole was mixed, engineered and mastered by K. Filip at the F&A Studio.

Funerary Call

Opposites do attract, and that goes for geographical issues too. Harlow MacFarlane from Australia and Cyclic Law from Canada did work together a couple of times before and… damn, what a stupid introduction…

Délétère (1)

I have always expressed my appreciation for the Quebecois scene, the French-speaking part in the East of Canada. I will not make a list of cool bands from out there, but be sure that this area brought for some of the better (Black) Metal acts from the whole of America.

Iron Fist Of The Sun

In a series of quite some interesting, no, excuse me, impressive (!) Cold Spring Records-releases, I came along the Iron Fist Of The Sun-album We Can Yield Our Own Footsteps, a seven-tracker that lasts for forty five minutes.

Necrocult

Necrocult… There are several of them… This review deals with the French one.

Actually, this band was formed in 1994 as Crucifix, playing an old schooled form of Death Metal. Yet slowly on, their approach got darker, and the nameless debut album, released in 2003 via French label Snakebite Productions, already brought a more evil-sounding sound (in mean time the band’s moniker changed into the current one).

Amezarak

When Viktor ‘Lord Dead’ Medvedev parted ways with Barathron, he created the outfit Amezarak, which I do appreciate quite a lot. In case you’re interested, I’m glad to invite you to read the review on the former album, last year’s Daemonolatreia, which was uploaded on the update of September 21st 2014.

Kabexnuv / Dol Guldur

When I noticed that Bud Metal were about to release a new album, I was extremely aroused, of course. I was (and still am) quite enthusiastic about Avitas, an outfit by label-owner Myrtroen, and since I found out that one of both projects appearing on this split-album would be another solo-outfit of this guy…
