I have absolutely no idea why this album only reached me now, since it’s been released over a year ago, and it’s really a shame I didn’t get the chance to listen to it, and write a review. It’s already the second album by this Swedish band, and I rather liked it.
Norwegian musician Thomas Bergli (drummer for Khold and Tulus, and formerly for Old Man's Child -in 1997 – and Sensa Anima – with whom he recorded the 2000 album Synthetic) akà Sarke had been toying with the ideas for a solo project for a couple of years already.
Since Nightwish released End Of An Era, a lot has changed, mainly at the front side of the band. Tarja got replaced with Anette and some years later, it was ReVamp's Floor Jansen to give it a go. She's only just been announced the new front lady of Nightwish and the band already decided to record the Wacken concert for a dvd, which goes by the title Showtime, Storytime.
This is not an album for the faint hearted. If you’re into pure rock, steer well away from this album. If on the other hand you like Blues Rock, spiced up with a healthy dose of country and even some boogie this album might work for you.
Belgium’s Marche Funèbre were formed more than six years ago with the intention to pay tribute to the Old School Doom-Death scene. Both the EP Norizon (2009) and the full length To Drown (2010) (also released via Shiver) proved that this band indeed did pay honour to the earliest years with grandeur and conviction. I have always been ‘into’ Inferno’s Black Metal (the one from the Czech Republic), and the last effort this act did, called Black Devotion, was released in 2009; indeed, it took way too long! Shame on you, guys! But since I am a big boy, I did not cry (yet), for I was ignorantly craving for more… And now there is more to come!

Kicking out the jams from Munster Germany since 2002 is Eat The Gun, delivering their fourth long player Stripped to the Bone, now signed to SPV/Steamhammer Records. The title of the album has some meaning for the band. From song writing to recording the band took a minimalist, stripped down, approach.

For those of you who don’t know the record “Hysteria” it’s time you discover one of the best gems that came from the 80’s. Every song on this album could have been released as a single. Now you have the chance to witness the Music in it’s purest sense, “Def Leppard” did the effort to play the entire album live on their visit to the city of sin, Las Vegas. Not only did they play the album from front to back but it also was recorded to be released as a full blown high definition Bluray/DVD/2CD release.

Dead Lord are a new band from Stockholm, Sweden and the first I can tell you is that the portrait of hard rock from the ’70s is the music of “Goodbye Repetance” for today. Don’t expect anything else apart from pure hard rock. Whoever had a taste of their 7″ EP “No Prayers Can Help You” could realize that the band loves Thin Lizzy and honestly the most guitar parts of the album are like a tribute to them on a way to thank them for what they have offered in music.
