Asia

Another of these bands that seem to have existed forever, and despite not receiving much attention in the regular press nor on the mainstream airwaves, continue to record and release new albums.  And on this album, there still are three of the four original band members giving acte de presence.

W.E.T.

This is a recording of an exclusive show W.E.T. played at the Debaser Club in Stockholm, Sweden, to celebrate the release of the ‘Rise Up’ album.  The album contains songs of both albums W.E.T. has released so far. The double album opens up with ‘Walk Away’, and immediately you get the feeling that this must have been one hellluva show.  With top musicians like Jeff Scot Soto, Robert Säll, and Erik Martenson who’d have thought otherwise.

15 Reasons

I have a very vivid memory of a certain period in Spring 2011 when, during the then more frequent updates of the website we performed at his place, our editor-in-chief would put the second full-length of this Brussels based Nu-Metal trio (then a quartet) into the cd-player, without telling me in advance that he'd gotten a deal with the band which solicited the erection of ConcreteWeb Records.

Nervosa

Nervosa is an all-female Brazilian trash metal band from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,  release its debut album, "Victim Of Yourself" somewhere between February and March (depending on where you live). The all-female thrash band offers the listener the same high-speed riffs, furious drumming and raging leads like every “man band” would. The songs have a brutal and raw energy and are crowned by murderous hooks and aggressive vocals.

House Of Lords

Most of House Of Lords albums are good, if not very good. And this new album is no exception on that rule. Of course it brings us nothing new, since the band, or their mastermind James Christian stick to the same recipe.

Grand Magus

Grand Magus from Sweden have been around for quite a bunch of albums now, to be exact, Triumph and Power is their sixth outing. There's been a few albums that have been hailed as the bridge between Manowar and Priest, and I would say that their latest is another good attempt to do just that. So although the band's sound has its roots in heavy metal from the late 70s/early 80s, Grand Magus is an updated, modern and entirely crushing groove experience. The production by Nico Elgstrand

Primal Fear

15 years on the road, and still going strong, that’s what sums up the career of Primal Fear.  So far they’ve released 9 studio albums, two live albums, and a ‘Best Of’.

The Poodles

This DVD was captured during the bands 2009 tour, and not only gives us some caption of their live shows, but also some behind the scenes moments of the band members, where you get to know more of the private interests of each member.

There are twelve songs in total on this disk, including some of their best tracks like ‘Caroline’, ‘Metal Will stand Tall’, ‘Echoes Of The Past’, ‘I Rule The Night’. If you’re into glam, and want to enjoy some quality time before your TV, this DVD should do the trick.

Red Dragon Cartel

I put this CD on without reading the accompanying info.  And my first impression was :am I listening to some Ozzy Osbourne tribute band, or a band that’s trying to clone his sound ?  So I started reading the info, and it soon became clear to me as to the why and how of this sound.

Ring Of Fire

Ring Of Fire, featuring former Yngwie Malmsteen vocalist Mark Boals is back with a new album after a hiatus of 9 years.  As a matter of fact this is the band’s fourth studio album. As the title might suggest, the album tries to tell the story of the siege of Leningrad during the second world war, a siege that started in September 1941, and only ended in January 1994, and costed thousands of lives on both sides.
