Sinister

It has no use to go to deep into the history of Sinister, one of The Netherlands’ best known and most influential bands ever. They were formed in 1989 and joined the Nuclear Blast-roster at the beginning of the nineties. This resulted in several albums: Cross The Styx (which I think is still a cult-record), Diabolical Summoning, Hate, Bastard Saints, Aggressive Measures, Creative Killings, and Savage Or Grace.

Abaddon Incarnate

Abaddon Incarnate from Ireland were formed when Bereaved were put to rest in 1994. After some demos, they were signed by France’s label Season Of Mist, and in 1999 they released The Last Supper, followed in 2001 by Nadir (through Sentinel) and Dark Crusade in 2004 (Xtreem Music).

Vaginal Penetration Of An Amelus With A Musty Carrot / Teen Pussy Fuckers

I very recently reviewed the six-way split Monsters! … (see update June 2nd 2014 under ‘various’), which brought pretty refreshing, original and / or at least distinctive Grindcore-attacks, and now Kaotoxin are here again with another grinding split, this time by two sweet combos that will make you gradually nauseous. A Fairytale Full Of Apotemnophiliac Moments is how this collection of Gore / Porn lullabies is entitled, and it will be released in a limited edition of 1,000 copies with no repressing afterwards.

Thine

Thine, from West Yorkshire UK, first formed in 1993 as Blood of Thine but it wasn’t until 1996 (& a name-change to just Thine), that the band decided to record their first studio demo. But it wasn’t until January 1998, for them to record the debut album under Peaceville Records. ‘A Town Like This’ was recorded at Academy Studios and was engineered / mixed by MAGS.

Eisregen

Earlier this year we (the Concreteweb headquarters) did receive the latest full length by German Dark Metal act Eisregen, called Todestage (the album was initially released at the very end of last year, for your information).

Coldwar

Although active for more than a decade, this Dublin-based band remained a heavily tipped act in the Hardcore/ Metal Underground scene...but with their newest, the 5 Irish members certainly have a chance of breaking through in the major league of players!

The Sedan Vault

Jimminy creepers...has it really been...why yes, it hàs been nearly 6 years since the Sedan Vault released its previous album, 2008's Vanguard. So...what has been happening to the band over that time?

Avatar

The Swedish band ‘Avatar’ debuted eight years ago with ‘Thoughts Of No Tomorrow’. They had influences by bands such as: ‘At The Gates’, ‘In Flames’, ‘Rammstein’,… they were a great inspiration for the band but with their previous release ‘Black Waltz’ they had found their own way.

Coltsblood

Liverpool-based act Coltsblood was formed in 2010 by John McNulty shortly after he left Conan, but it took quite some time before the band showed on with material. 2013 saw the release of the demo Beyond The Lake Of Madness (self-released on tape, and done on vinyl a couple of months later on via Ulthar Records), and that very same year there was a split-EP as well, with city fellowmen of Crypt Lurker.

Words Of Farewell

Germany’s Words Of Farewell were formed during the first half of the former decade. When they recorded and released the debut Immersion, they gained lots of positive attention all over the world. I wasn’t that enormously enthusiastic with that first full length studio album (see update July 8th 2012) (which, by the way, was released via AFM Records too), but I surely did not dislike it either.
