Manes

I won’t spend my time on a lengthy, deepening introduction. Check out the .net or the reviews I did on the newest Lethe-album (posted on March 13th 2014) or Manii’s last year’s full length debut (see update January 8th 2013).

Fake Idols

Fake Idols was formed from the union of three bands in the hard rock/metal genre (Raintime, Slowmotion Apocalypse and Jar Of Bones). They found each other in their search for new sounds and have decided to join forces for this new and young project, so you might have it a bit difficult finding any solid info about these chaps.

Serpent

According  to the Bio  “Serpent”  is a  German band  built around  two individuals  also known as Vent & Tongue. Apparently it’s ther aim to rejoy the world with NWOBHM styled metal in the tradition of “Satan” and “ Blitzkrieg” and is “Possessed by night” an enhanced re-release of their demo. Well actually it reads better then it sounds…….

Magnum

Magnum is a British progressice rock band founded in 1972 Birmingham, England. Yes from 1972 maybe your parents remember this band made more than thirty albums (Studio, Live and Compilation). The Current members are: Tony Clarkin from 1972 (guitars), Bob Catley from 1972 (vocals), Mark Stanway from 1980 (keyboards), Al Barrow from 2001(bass) and Harry James from 2001(drums).

Skyliner

Skyliner originaly from Jacksonville, Florida. Formed in the year 2000 playing Heavy/progressive/power metal. But they making music that you normally expect from Europe. Current members are Ben ‘The Ben’ Brenner (drums, percussion), Jake Becker (vocals, guitar), Ashley Flynn (keyboards) and David Lee Redding (Bass).

Lethe

Lethe are an unusual project with some well-known members: Tor-Helge ‘Cernunnos’ Skei (music and lyrics, bass and guitars, programming and synth, production), known from e.g. Manes / Manii, Atrox or Norwegian Suffocation, and Nucleus Torn / Eluveitie’s Anna Murphy (music and lyrics, vocals, bass, programming, piano, production and mix).

Grift

Fyra Elegier was originally released on mini-CD via Nordvis Produktion, and on vinyl by Blut & Eisen Productions some months later on. The material was recorded by Perditor (vocals, bass and guitars) and drummer Hallbäck and lasts for about twenty four minutes. We did receive it only very recently, but despite big piles of other stuff waiting to be reviewed, I didn’t want to ignore this one.

Vanishing Point

You have to go back to 2007 for the previous album from Vanishing Point. Why It took them this long is anyone’s guess.  Of course to say this band is prolific is an understatement. This is only their fifth since their formation in the early nineties.

Sinbreed

Sinbreed” was founded as Neoshine, and made it to release three demos under that name, but was forced to change to “Sinbreed” in order to avoid legal issues with an homonymous American company. A german metal group’ delivers fresh blood to the scene with their uncompromising, medolic power/speed metal. Current line-up: Herbie Langhans (vocals), Flo Laurin (guitars), Marcus Siepen (guitars), Alexander Schulz (bass) and Frederik Ehmke (drums).

Shrapnel

The Virus Conspires hit the decks with full on angry US (Death Angel, Exodus, Heathen, Forbidden) and German (Kreator, Destruction , Tankard) sounding-like thrash metal like “Kingdome come”, “Titan” and “Pseudocommando” with exceptional guitar solos, pounding drums and a Petrozza-like growl bite that hurts for days. Such songs as “22” and “Red Terror” to name but a few explore the passion, blood and sweat that is spread throughout the CD.
