Satanath Records

Curse / Styggelse / WAN

Satanath Records release, and do appreciate that, quite a lot of splits too. I like it because it might fill up a hiatus for a band’s relative silence in between two albums, for example. Or a split contains rare or old and hard-to-get stuff. Or just because it offers some variety. Or it might give you the opportunity to meet bands you haven’t been listening to before. Or… Nope, this is not an essay on my opinion on split collaborations, but it’s a review for a threesome…

Malamorte

Malamorte are a (new) project by Alessandro ‘Lord Vampyr’ Nunziati, known (currently or previously) from bands and projects such as Theatres Des Vampires, Cain, Shadowsreign, Sepolcrum, Lord Vampyr and some more.

Black Whispers

Black Whispers are a project from Costa Rica, formed in 2013 by José ‘S.S’ Fonseca, nowadays acting as JF or J.F. After a very limited split with Noldor, José recorded + released his debut under the Black Whispers moniker (Negative Ways Of Life) in early 2014 (Depressive Illusions Productions) with assistance of session musician Diego ‘Lwl’ Sanchez.

Defiance Of Decease

Hailing from the city of Tcherkessk, close to the Georgian border, the Russian band Defiance Of Decease were formed in 2007. But if I’m not mistaken they did not release anything official until now. Suicide is this band’s first full length album, recorded, mixed and mastered at the Darknagar Records studio, and now available via Narcoleptica Prod. on both CD and tape. The result consists of eight tracks that last for thirty-nine minutes.

Styxian Industries

At the end of last decade, a new entity was born in the Netherlands: Styxian Industries. The aim was to destroy the last beliefs in mankind, and to brutally penetrate all organic structures by the post-apocalyptic industrial hammer (damn, I’m in a poetic mood tonight…). But seriously, this act created some stuff in between 2009 and 2010, with a highlight in 2012 by means of a split with Redreom, released via Total Death Records.

EdxKemper

Well, when you name your band after a pretty guy like Edmund Kemper, you probably do not need to expect songs of love and pink dreams. Edmund Kemper was, as you surely know, a Californian serial murderer, who dismembered his victims and who is accused as well for necrophilia and cannibalism. He committed his first murders at the age of fifteen (his grandparents), and after some years of collocation, he did at least eight facts in less than a year.

Vanad Varjud

I had not heard of Estonian act Vanad Varjud before, but deep investigation learned me that this trio released a first recording in 2014 (which was called Apooriad, done on tape). Back then they were a duo, existing through highly productive / active musicians Thon and Sorts; but in mean time they recruited a lead vocalist, Ott – this guy, by the way, did work with the other ones before as guest / session vocalist on some of the many other projects these guys are involved with.

Endlos

Endlos were formed in 2012 in the Lower Saxonian area (Germany) by Jörn ‘J’ Hermann and Carsten ‘C’ aka ‘Waldseel’. Both of them are quite active musicians, being involved with several other bands and projects, and with Endlos their productivity isn’t inferior either. There were several demos and EP’s, and a split with Winterblood, and now they come up with their first official full length album, Im Fallen Verlaufen.

Colemesis

Both Satanath Records and Symbol Of Domination Productions, respectively parent label and sub-label by my dear brother-in-arms Aleksey, have some connections within the Costa Rican Metal Mafia, I guess.
