Black Anvil

When Black Anvil released their debut album Time Insults The Mind, I was enormously surprised; the positive way! The band was formed in New York City with members who were active in the NYHC-scene (the founding members were active in Kill Your Idols, for example), but Black Anvil’s 2008-debut had nothing to do with Hardcore whatsoever. And what’s more, their thrashing and Doom / Death-injected Black Metal truly was of a very high quality.

Zaum

It has been quite a while, but I am glad I Hate did send our headquarters some new stuff at last. I cannot explain why, but their releases almost always please me a lot.

Vilifier

Vilifier are an Australian combo, formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 2011 by members of e.g. Chemical Cascades, Kingdom Of Decay, Demonreich and Lustration. With the latter, for your information, Vilifier had a split-tape in the recent past (released via Supremacy Through Intolerance, a label that mainly releases material on cassette, by the way).

Sieghetnar

There are two Sieghetnar-re-issues that recently came my way, i.e. one being the third full length by this project, Bewußtseinserweiterung, which I will review very soon (watch out!), and one for the first demo out of three done in 2008, called Endlösung. This review will deal with that one.

Profezia

Profezia were formed in 2000 in Veneto, Italy, by Kvasir (think: Abhor, Ancient Supremacy or Spiritual). With this solo-outfit, he had a collaboration with international colleagues / artists in mind. After the release of some demos / promos, Profezia signed to Undercover’s roster, and in 2008 the project released the debut full length Black Misanthropic Elite (Moon Anthem).

Nidsang

Sundsvall, Sweden-located band Nidsang was formed ten years ago as Lammoth, but very soon the current moniker was chosen. The band recorded a demo somewhat later on (ingeniously called Nidsang, and released via Sadolust), and the members started recording material for what would be their first studio album. Originally this stuff was meant to be released via Sadolust too, but thing seemed to turn out differently due to various circumstances.

Nahash

Nahash are a band from Lithuania, formed more than twenty years ago out of the ashes of Nemesis. They debuted on the first edition of the split series Dark Fire Dancing, created to promote the Lithuanian scene, and in 1996 they had this album out via Ledo Takas Records (owned by a former member of the band, Tadas Kazlauskas), back then on tape.

Inconcessus Lux Lucis

Inconcessus Lux Lucis hail from Manchester, U.K. and were formed by Malphas in 2005 under the moniker of Whorethorn. Malphas decided to change the moniker into the current one in 2009, after having released a first (mini) album (Under The Veil Of Darkness, via Salute Records), a couple of demos and splits as Whorethorn (especially via their own label Grim Being).

Feskarn

Feskarn are a project by Niklas Larsson, originating from Uppsala, Sweden, and formed in 2010. The guy released a first album in 2012, called Raise Your Sword. Since Pesttanz Klangschmiede were so kind to send that album together with this new one, I will write a review on that debut very soon; just watch out.
