Aetherius Obscuritas

Even-though it’s been more than a year, I will write several reviews on stuff released by GrimmDistribution (and the sister-labels involved) from ‘back then’. Mártír is one of those releases that does deserve any additional support by undersigned (for what it’s worth).

Landstrykar

It was purely coincidentally that I came in touch with some friendly guy called André and a new project he started, called Landstrykar. …doesn’t matter how we ‘met’, but I was truly intrigued by what I heard. I’ll start with a small introduction.

Kabexnuv

The ancient Egyptian god Horus had four sons, each of them with a relative important cultus to guide a deceased human being to his / her afterlife. All four of them were involved with mummification, preservation of dead people’s intestines after passing away, in order to guide those deceased people to the next step in life (even though it was not the trusted life-on-Earth thing). One of them was Kebehsenoef, Quebesenuf, Kkabesnouv, whatever how you want to write this name down in earthly scripture.

Skorb

As fast and fierce as this demo, the fast and fierce this review will be.

Skorb are a very young four-piece formation that hail from Russia (St. Petersburg), and they recorded a first demonstrational EP in Winter 2019-2020. This material drew attention of Germany’s Corrupted Flesh Records, ergo: decent release of these four lullabies on cassette format (limited to one hundred copies).

Ondfødt

The Nordic-styled genre might be one of the most ‘popular’ subgenres within the Black Metal scene (with exception of some pathetic semi-commercial Pop-Black trends, which make me puke’n’vomit; but that’s another story). Nordic-oriented Black Metal has its origins within the Second Wave and somehow remained true to the roots of the ‘general’ Black Metal scene.

Crepuscular Rituals

I have been thinking about how to start this review, over and over again. The reason: both muSICKians involved – sorry, musicians, I mean. But after re-writing my introduction a couple of times, I thought it would just be fun / honest / easy / clear / whatever… Whatever… I’ll keep it simple and to-the-core…

In Oblivion

It’s bizarre, but you know, this band was formed at the end of the first decade of this century / millennium. However, throughout all those years, the project didn’t really shine through all-capturing obscurity, with exception of one EP in 2015, being the two-tracker In Oblivion. That EP was released via Russia’s finest Endless Winter at the very beginning of Autumn 2015. That’s it…

Megalith Levitation / Dekonstruktor

Once again Aesthetic Death come up with a psychedelic thing, but once more it is not just ‘another psychotropic event’ going on, yet another unique, open-minded sonic session. This time Stu and his crew focused on the release of a split in between two acts from Russian soil, Megalith Levitation and Dekonstruktor. A small introduction might be of resignation.
