As They Burn

Hailing from the city of love and light, Paris, As They Burn are the newest sensation in the deathcore genre. Think of a mixture of the fury of Emmure and the heaviness of country mates Gojira and you'll end up with As They Burn.

A Perfect Day

A Perfect Day is a new Italian hard rock band and if you are a sucker for melodic hard rock music I am pretty sure you will or already have added their self-titled debut album to your collection...

The band members are no new kids on the block. Andrea Cantarelli (guitarist) co-founding member from Labyrinth started this new band/concept from scratch and easily convinced his mate Roberto Trianti (vocals/bass) to join and with Alessandro Bissa (Drums) they completed the lineup.

Great White

To celebrate their 30 years of existence, Great White recorded a live album in the Keys Club in Los Angeles.  From the album you can’t tell If they set the house on fire, a feat the fake White managed to do in 2003, although they had to use pyrotechnics…..

Weapons To Hunt

Weapons To Hunt are the ‘sequel’ to Infinited Hate, featuring former and current Sinister and Supreme Pain members. This first album, by the way, comes with session bass parts performed by Erwin Harreman, member of, and please hold on, don’t be afraid: Sinister / Supreme Pain. …a somewhat incestuous collegiality.

Tiamat

Sweden’s Tiamat started during the second part of the eighties as a unique Death Metal formation (originally as Treblinka; despite the badly-chosen name, I did love this act a lot!), combining the typifying Swedish school (i.e. the Sunlight-sound!) with some own-faced elements. The experimentation became more and more important throughout the years, and as from Wildhoney (Century Media, 1994) they did indeed develop a sound that was both original and unusual.

TBP

Mario Contarino was born in Rome in 1984. The man (who is a stranger to me) was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy when he was 5 years old.

In 2000, at 16. He joined a pop-rock band named ‘Ladri di Carrozzelle’ as the drummer. He stayed in the band till the summer of 2006. In those six years they played all over the country, reaching the number of 600 concerts in Italy, taking parts in many important events and TV shows.

Infernal Tenebra

New Formed Revelations is the third album by Croatian four-piece Infernal Tenebra. The band was able to have this material mixed and mastered by top-producer Jens Bogren at his Fascination Street Studio (think: Turisaz, Amon Amarth, Be’lakor, Borknagar, Paradise Lost, Gwyllion and many more), which attests the full, great sound. This album has nothing to do with Black Metal anymore.

Darkthrone

Gylve ‘Fenriz’ Nagell and Ted ‘Nocturno Culto’ Skjellum return with album # 666, and what strikes me as from the very first moment: six songs only for a total duration of forty two minutes. Why not?...

The Underground Resistance was recorded in two years and is the most logical Darkthrone record seen their permanent progression. Everything is Old School, yet the variety is enormous. However, this band’s characterising trademarks are present in every single detail.

Aeon Zen

Aeon Zen with this album ‘Enigma’ are on their third release.  Mastermind behind Aeon Zen  is multi-talented, multi- instrumental Rich Hinks, whom not only wrote all the songs, but also did the mixing and the production, as well as playing some of the instruments, and to top it of did some of the vocals as well.

Big Engine

Neither of the few sources giving out the info, I am quite uncertain as to when this Jacksonville (Florida!, not Arkansas, North Carolina, or Texas) based quartet (consisting of lead singer/ guitarist Tony Minkus, lead guitarist Hans Oellerich, bassist Ryan Wilcox and drummer Benny Pucket) first got together to play their Country and Southern flavoured Classic Hard Rock tunes...but their MySpace page was opened on Jan. 30, 2006, so many that's a good indicator?
