Sanctum (live-1)

I will review two live registrations for Swedish act Sanctum, both being released via Raubbau. In a couple of days / weeks / millennia it will be a review on their performance on CBGB, but this review deals with their co-operation on the famous Maschinenfest happening in Oberhausen (Germany) on October 10th 2015. In 2004, Sanctum was part of the Maschinenfest line-up as well.

Black Command

Black Command are a (young) formation, hailing from the tropical shores of The Netherlands. The band was formed in 2012 by Morte Noire members, but I do not think we can consider Black Command as a side-project of Morte Noire.

Yodok III

Yodok III (quite a strange moniker indeed it is) is a collaboration of three notorious and well-known musicians that did work together under other pseudonyms or in other constellations too.

Maldição

Brazilian trio Maldição are, to my knowledge, quite a young band, and there is not much I know about them. Pat from mighty Avitas or Kabexnuv (and Bud Metal Records) told me this stuff was too interesting to ignore, and he did refer to this release specifically (thanks pal for this opportunity!).

Amenra

Alive is not a ‘new’ album by Belgian finest Amenra, but a collection of live tracks that show another aspect of this band. But actually it isn’t totally renewing, for Amenra once created the Afterlife EP, being an acoustic approach of their extreme presence.

Die Weisse Rose

Being a huge fan of Martial Industrial, no matter whether it’s political inspired or not, and no matter whether the focus lies of epic constructions, Dark Wave-oriented obscurity, militant war-propaganda or Neo-Folk / Neo-Classical inspired atmospheres, I was quite surprised that I didn’t cross the path of Ukrainian label Old Captain before. But that is about to gonna change as from now on – that’s a promise to myself! Reason is that this label did sign Die Weisse Rose (they’re named after a pacifistic resistance movement during WWII).

Black Stone Cherry

What an ignorant fool I’ve been.  I never ever had listened to Black Stone Cherry before having to

review this DVD and upon the first notes I heard, I regretted having been so stupid to ignore this band

completely.

Now as to why I ignored them completely ?  I really don’t know.  Of course you don’t get to hear them

on the radio that often, if ever at all,  Yet they were already founded in 2001, and were on Roadrunner

Records until recently.  So far they’ve released four studio albums, with a new album ‘Kentucky’
