James Christian

Despite being the frontmen of House Of Lords, James Christian has so far released two solo albums, the 1994 ‘Rude Awakening’ and the 2004 ‘Meet The Man’, he will now rejoice the world of AOR rockers with this opus ‘Lay It All On Me’, his third album. Of course with Mr. Christian you know you’re gonna get some good vocals, and that’s exactly what you get on this album.  As a matter of fact I think he has always been a bit underrated as a vocalist and I hope that this will change with this album.

Timo Tolkki’s Avalon

Since Timo Tolkki’s and Stratovarius ways went in another direction in 2008, both parties have not stood still.  Stratovarius released the ‘Polaris’ album, while Timo joined forces with André Matos to form Symfonia, who released only one album ‘In Paradisum’.  Rumours came and went that Timo would quit the music business, but lucky for us he’s not done that, cause this new project Avalon, has released a masterpiece with this first album.

Jorn

There’s hardly a year that goes by without Jorn releasing a new album.  Of course the man has a fantastic voice and most of the time is accompanied by a great band, so you’ll not hear a real complaint from me.

Sammy Hagar & Friends

Sammy Hagar is an all-rounder, but if he excels in anything it’s certain in Blues/Soul music topped with a rocky sound. In addition, he is helped by his friends. that can only sound good in my opinion.

It’s since 2008 that Hagar yet released a solo album.

It's an album based on his roots. It’s professionally mixed and mastered by the team (Sammy Hagar, John Cuniberti and Jaimeson Durr).

‘Winding Down’

Whitesnake

Forgive me this remark, but I think in this case Frontiers Records are really milking the cow dry so to speak.  Shortly after releasing the live album ‘Made In Japan’, they’re now releasing yet another live album ‘Made In Britain’.  And to make matters worse these recordings stem from the same tour as the ‘Made In Japan’ album.

So does it add something to Whitesnake’s repertorium?  I’m not sure, but I’ve got the slight impression that the songs on this album have just a tad more energy than those on the ‘Made In Japan’ album.

Pat Travers

Pat Travers.  For the younger of you this name probably means nothing, but for the veterans like me it does.  Way back in the late seventies, early eighties he was a relatively well known guitarist/vocalist.
