Legion Of The Damned

Legion Of The Damned is a black/trash metal band from the Netherlands. The band started in 1992 under the name Occult. In 2005 they changed the name to Legion Of The Damned. Ravenous Plague is the sixth album of the band under the name Legion Of The Damned. Former band member, Twan Fleuren, committed suicide on 21 May 2011 and Richards Ebisch, the co-founder of the band, left the band.

Kinit Her

From out of the backwoods of Wisconsin comes the weirdelic sounds and drones of a “Folk” collective known as Kinit Her, originally a threesome, but since a couple of years revolving around the twosome of Nathaniel Allen Ritter and Troy Allen Schafer. Founded in 2005, the outfit set out playing gigs since 2006, and celebrated a first release in 2010. Since then, their output has been, quite simply put, impressive!

Killers Lodge

Killer Lodge raised out “Raza de Odio” previous band of Johan KillerBob in 2011. Members are: John KillerBob (voice, bass guitar), Olly Razorback (guitars) and Christo Machete (drums). They aimed to play some raw, fast and dirty rock ‘n’ roll. The result is a bunch of old-style heavy metal songs flavored with a pinch of raw rock ‘n’ roll that will bang your hand.

Iron Dogs

Let me start with saying that “Iron Dogs” is one of my absolute favourite songs and that Exciter’s Heavy Metal Maniac is one of my favourite albums of all time. I still become amazed when I listen to it. Every song on this record is a fucking whiplash.

I Shalt Become

This band, centered around mainman S. Holliman (in essence, ISB is really a solo project, but for the fact that Holliman doesn't play the drums) is considered one of the very originators of what is commonly known as the “USBM” scene, having existed from before (1995) that term became popular.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Flotsam and Jetsam founded in 1982 (Paradox, The Dogz). Present members are Kelly David-Smith (drums), Edward Carlson (guitars), Eric A.K. Knutson (vocals), Michael Gilbert (guitar) and Jason Ward (bass). These Americans playing power and trash metal.

Fallen Arise

The idea for this Greek Symphonic Metal band was spawned in 2009, when guitarist Frangiskos and keyboardist Gus Dibelas (then already also in Power Metal act Secret Illusion, and since 2010 also active in Wolfcry) got together to write a couple of songs.

Falkenbach

Gosh...considering that Falkenbach have been around since 1989, released 5 full-length albums prior to this one since 1996, and are a known entity within the Viking/ Black/ Folk Metal scene, I am kind of surprised to find this album come my way for review. Perhaps our specialist already had enough on his plate (as per usual, by the way!)?

Duncan Evans

Following the release of his debut single “Bird Of Prey” b/w “She And I Must Part” (released in April; review by yours truly posted somewhere in July of last year), Duncan Evans finally found his debut solo album released in mid-November (and, yes, we know...we have quite some delay reviewing the thing, but you should see the backlog of releases we get to do each month, with a far to small staff...in fact, our editor-in-chief has trouble downloading all that promo material which in the past was sént to us by mail, you know, and I only got this album in my to-do box
