Netherbird were formed in 2004 by Nephente, Grim (who left in mean time) and Bizmark. Despite almost a decade of existence, the band didn’t really record that much material. With The Ferocious Tides Of Fate, Netherbird release their third full length album, which was recorded at the Scarecrow Studios, which are, just like the label the band is currently on, gathered within the Scarecrow Music Group.
Metal Inquisitor was founded in 1998 by Blumi and Witchhammer. The idea behind the band was to play classic, traditional heavy metal. After some time the gang assigned Kronos for the bass guitar and El Rojo as the singer.

I EXIST are a sextet from Australian capital Canberra, and on there 3th full length they present us a slab of darkness one would not immediately link to surfers paradise down under. What I Exist offer us is downtuned guitar violence , ranging from doom to stoner sludge with a hint of death metal and some hardcore. The vocals can be filed under “guttural”. Italian act Ephel Duath, named after the Shadow Mountains from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth, are an eccentric, weird entity. Frontman Davide Tiso did work with several internationally well-appreciated musicians to create his former material (this time is not different, of course; see further), but still with his personal vision in mind.
I ended the review I did for January’s comeback-EP Inner Evil (it was the first thing this Finnish band did after an eighteen-year hiatus) with ‘awaiting the upcoming full length, I can’t stop craving for more…’. It was meant to be a compliment, for this band’s return was excellent! Good to know, “Evil unleashed / give’ em war” is a rerelease of the first 2 albums of this Spanish band, the info sheet tells me that we’re talking thrash, but in my opinion Angelus Apatrida are just as much a power metal band as they are thrash. This review also only refers to “Evil unleashed” for the simple reason that that’s all the promo package proved to me contained…. Anyway Angelus Apatrida come as a nice surprise to me as even today good quality metal bands from Spain are a rare breed.
