A-Sun Amissa
In 2011, Gizeh Records owner Richard Knox (also in e.g. Shield Patterns, Glissando and The Rustle Of The Stars) started a project called A-Sun Amissa as an instrumental outlet for his many ideas.

For almost two decades, Norway’s Svartsinn can easily be considered one of the most impressive acts within the Scandinavian (and worldwide) Dark Ambient scene. The project was born at the very end of last century, created by Trondheim, Norway born Jan Roger Pettersen. Throughout the years, there were not that much official releases, yet all of them put they mark on the universal Dark Ambient landscape. Within quite a lengthy list with influential artists, Jan Roger might play within the premier league, I think.
Burial Mist is a solo-project by a guy who calls himself Coffin Spirit (he recently joined Unholyath’s roster, as new bass player). The band is located in Novocherkassk, a city close to the Ukrainian border (not that far away from the Sea of Azov), formed in 2007. Throughout the years, there were several demos and EP’s, some compilations, two full lengths, and a couple of splits (with the likes of e.g. Solus, Sekhmet and Unholyath).
Pure are a young project by one of Switzerland’s most notorious (Black) Metal musicians, Sergio ‘Ormenos Bornyhake’ Moplat. He’s best known as drummer, yet as well as multi-instrumentalist, currently or formerly active with the likes of Enoid, Borgne, Gerbophilia, Kawir, Cryfemal and many others.
Mike O’Brien is one of the members of Symphonic (Black) Metal act Appalachian Winter, he’s the guy behind the fantastic droning Dark Ambient act Veiled Monk, and he used to perform ritual Ambient Music too under the Ritual In Ash moniker. Another solo-outfit he runs is Melankolia, with a modest yet highly interesting discography.
Nikolay Seredov is a (pretty young) guy from the Southern part of the small country Russia, and active in several combos out there. Besides being involved with e.g. Taiga and Stakhanovtsy, he’s also known as the sole member of Funeral Tears, an outfit which he started in 2007.
I do not know whether I can call Nytt Land as a side-project of Russian Pop-Folk outfit Ylande, but the fact is that both bands share members. This Russian act was formed not that long ago (2014) in the Siberian city of Kalakhinsk, very close to the border of Kazakhstan.
One of my ‘favourite’ artists on Cryo Chamber must be Randall Collier-Ford – no, stop! I have no favourites, for the Cryo Chamber roster has nothing else but great Drone / Ambient musicians. So I’ll start all over…
First this: Aux Portes De La Mort (‘at the gates of death’) was released on February 12th 2010, but the scroll-down menu does not go back that far. But once again: 2010!
