Darkstorm

There was a Polish band called Darkstorm during the nineties, with a couple of demos that, back then, were quite appropriate to the scene. After the album / EP The Black Stone, however, the project ceased its activities. It was a pity, for there might have been a ‘future’ for this unholy horde. Apparently there was a return as Ravenlord Darkstorm (founding member Lord Darkstorm did not want to use the original moniker), yet that wasn’t but just a brief revival.

Order Of The White Hand

Aki Klemm is one of the most active guys within the (current) Finnish (Black) Metal scene. Not only he owns the Patologian Laboratorio Productions and the Patologian Laboratorio Studio, but he’s active in several band and projects too: Grimirg, Oath, Lathspell, Hautakammio, Seal Of Beleth, and some others.

Nocturnal Amentia

(release date on top must be '2012' and not 2016, but this program won't go back further than 2013 - Ivan)

Quite an active act from Ukraine is Nocturnal Amentia, formed at the beginning of this century in the Lugansk area. The band released four full albums in mean time (the last one being released a couple of months ago via Cold Breath Of Silence), and they contributed on two splits; one with UK’s Black Grave, and another one with fellow countrymen of Underdark (sharing a member, by the way [*]).

Scolopendra Cingulata

How many bands do you know from Kazakhstan? Personally, I know about a handful of names - just by name (and maybe I’ve heard something of them on the net or on a sampler, but nothing more than that). And to be honest, in my (limited, haha) physical collection, there’s only one name that appears: Scolopendra Cingulata. And I have to say that I do truly adore their demo Paccbet (from 2014; you can find the short review on the update of December 2nd 2014).

Aquila

Aquila is a solo-outfit by Atheosoph, whom you might know from his collaboration in (sadly defunct) Rein (review for their sole album La Cocaïne Des Seigneurs: see update of March 5th 2016). Under the Aquila-moniker, Atheosoph recorded a first demo-tape, Les Larmes De L’Aigle (‘tears of the eagle’), which was released in a limited edition in September 2014 via Werewolf Promotion.

Karmiciel Wszy

Karmiciel Wszy is a Polish artist / sound composer that recently released a handful of material on labels such as BDTA, Cvlminis, Lighten Up Sounds or Jasień, as well as an album via the impressive Frozen Light label from the Russian Federation. The latter is called Torre Bert, which is actually the name of a non-official tracking station somewhere in Italy.

Negative Voice

Almost three years after the debut Infinite Dissonance (initially digitally released, and put on CD one year later; released via Finland’s Inverse Records), Russia’s Negative Voice return with their second official full length studio album, Cold Redrafted.

Kreiviskai

The ancient city of Tier, not that far away from Moscow, capital of the Russian Federation, has quite an interesting history. Unfortunately, the old Soviet institutes sort of ‘killed’ quite some elements from the culture and traditions of that era, at the shores of the river Volga. But are several bands out there that try to revive the forgotten glory of that era / area, and amongst those is this one: Kreiviskai. The band was formed in 2013, and soon after their birth, the quartet started working on their debut full album.
