Many fans were shocked with the announcement that long- time frontwoman ‘Angela Gossow’ would quit the band. But ‘Alissa White- Gluz’ is definetly a good replacement as wel as front- woman and vocalist, she has it all.

Triptykon is a musical project of Thomas Gabriel Fischer, founding member of the pioneering heavy metal bands Hellhammer, Celtic Frost and Apollyon Sun. Fischer announced his departure from Celtic Frost in May 2008 and shortly afterwards revealed his new project would be entitled Triptykon.

Finntroll

Finntroll must be one of the most unique bands ever. They formed about seventeen years ago and surprised our globe with a mostly amusing mix of Folk / Humppa and Death / Black Metal. Humppa is a Suomi-based variant on the better known Polka Music, for your information (but most amongst you do know that for sure). Their albums, and there are several of them done during the past one-and-a-half decade, were very successful, and the band was able to visit almost the whole planet to perform live on stage. And when it comes to the latter, it comes to this review as well.

Triptykon

I do not think Triptykon need any introduction anymore. They actually started six years ago as a side-project of Celtic Frost, but soon it all turned more serious. Tom G. ‘Warrior’ Fischer left Celtic Frost (and Celtic Frost disbanded soon after), and lots of material he wrote after the Monotheist-sessions (which I still think was a splendid album) seemed to be a logical basement for his new group.
